Body shaming anybody is wrong.

So before i dive into this topic, I've chosen to give some reasoning to this post. Personally, I've never been the most confident person when it comes to looks or body shape. I know I'm also not the only one who has had issues with this growing up/still do now. The medias control over society is very powerful. This leads me to why i chose to write this on a social MEDIA site. If the media has the control it does now on what body shape is "perfect", then why can't my post have the same effect. So my wish is that in the next five years there will be no perfect body shape and the media will be supporting this and encouraging young people to love their own body. So in the last ten years, the media have had the illusion that people with a smaller frame make better models than people with a larger frame. This is wrong. The media have no right to say what body shape makes a better model. In fact nobody has that right at all. But in the last few years, Song writers

Comparision

So i guarantee everyone reading this has compared themselves to another person or object at least once. Comparison is very common in teenagers especially, but most of us do it. In a way it is only part of our instincts as we all get envious, but it is also really unhealthy. If you're constantly wishing to be something else, then you can't really ever love yourself can you? Then how do you expect somebody else too if you can't. There is a fine line between passively saying "I like her hair I wish mine fell like that" and saying "I like her hair, why can't I be like her. she's so much of a better person than me". There will be times where you will be jealous of somebody's appearance or their talent or personality etc. But their qualities or skills do not define your qualities or skills. What I mean by that Is just because somebody's qualities are high, it doesn't make you any better than them or any worse. Nobody can compare themselv

Dementia Friends

Dementia is a syndrome associated with an ongoing decline of the brain and it's abilities. Some of the symptoms include memory loss, thinking speed and mental agility. It affects about 800,000 people in the UK of present. It mainly affects people over the age of 65, but can still happen to anybody of any age. It is a very sad and unfortunate disease for the person and friends and family of them. From personal experience I know it is horrible seeing people suffer from it. My nana has it and has had it for around 5 or so years. Every time I visit her she seems less with it and barley recognizes me. This can be upsetting to see her slowly deteriorate but it is in no way shape or form her fault at all. So this being very close to my heart, I try to support any campaigns to raise any awareness for it. Today I found this and I just had to share it with you. This is a campaign to support people with dementia and raise awareness of this, very common, but not as commonly talked about d

Book review #1

So the bible has 1,281 pages, 66 books and 1,189 chapters. Pretty big, right? Now don't get me wrong I love reading long books and don't shy away from it, but I must admit I was scared with how big the bible is. I just had no idea where to start and was a bit intimidated with how long it is. But recently I've heard people my age tell me how they've started getting into the bible and how amazing it is once you get started. So this leads me to wanting to experience this great book too. So i looked around on the internet on the best ways to "start" reading it. The most common answer was to do bible studies, section by section. As this way you get to know individual stories, characters and what god is trying to say. A while back this year i was given a bible study book from the "engage" series. So i got this out and went to page 1, got my notebook, and bible out and started. After doing one i was suddenly hooked and wanted to do all of them there and

Are books losing popularity?

Are books losing popularity?  So personally i believe they are. Now let me explain my reasons why. So many years ago before technology most people would read books as a pastime out of enjoyment. Now that color TV'S, mobile phones and the internet are around less and less people are reading books. Also a high number of the population would prefer to watch the film as it's easier and requires less concentration. This means that the majority of people my generation (Late 1990's+) are just not interested in reading in fear of looking uncool and like a "nerd". Now obviously it is in the curriculum to read when you first start school, so most people can actually read they just chose not too. Me being an avid reader and lover of books cannot see this nonsense. but unfortunately it's the truth of today's society. So my second reasoning is fairly similar to the first as it's also down to technology. So i'm sure you've all heard of E-readers and ki

Religion...

Now I know religion is quite a conversational subject as every body has their own beliefs due to free will. But I would like to just explain it from my own belief and what I think on the matter. The religion I follow and believe in is Christianity and I have done for the past 8 months. Being a christian is a huge part of my daily life and I take pride in the fact I have a father as amazing as god. It's so reassuring to me that one day I will be reunited with god in heaven after serving him here on earth for many years. It saddens me that people get mocked, beaten up, even killed for believing and serving god. Most Christians mean no harm to anyone and all they wish to do is praise gods creations and spread the word of his gospel. Within my church family I know some pretty amazing people and I've had the pleasure of appearing in their lives due to god and I find that phenomenal that one god can have so much power. I believe that god gave his only son away to forgive the sins o
