Religion...

Now I know religion is quite a conversational subject as every body has their own beliefs due to free will. But I would like to just explain it from my own belief and what I think on the matter.

The religion I follow and believe in is Christianity and I have done for the past 8 months. Being a christian is a huge part of my daily life and I take pride in the fact I have a father as amazing as god. It's so reassuring to me that one day I will be reunited with god in heaven after serving him here on earth for many years. It saddens me that people get mocked, beaten up, even killed for believing and serving god. Most Christians mean no harm to anyone and all they wish to do is praise gods creations and spread the word of his gospel. Within my church family I know some pretty amazing people and I've had the pleasure of appearing in their lives due to god and I find that phenomenal that one god can have so much power. I believe that god gave his only son away to forgive the sins of millions of un-perfect people, just so that we could have eternal life with him. I will be forever grateful for that, as that's the best thing i could ever receive.

No matter how amazing I've just made it sound (it is still really amazing) there is struggles within becoming a christian. however with gods strength and power we can pull through and carry on praising him for the things we do have. A personal struggle of mine is being separated from the ones I love when i go to heaven because they aren't Christians. but it really shouldn't be a struggle as how do I know they won't all become Christians in years to come? the answer is, I don't. So all I have to do is prove to my loved ones that god is so amazing and the wonders he's worked in my life and hope that they decide to let god take control of their life. Now one of my all time favorite bible verses is "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16)." The reason I love it so much is because it sums Christianity up so well and how powerful god is.

Recently I've been faced with many people who say they're Christians and attend church, However there heart isn't in the same place. Within this I have realized that just because a person attends church, it doesn't make them a christian. Just because a guy attends the gym does that mean he's an athlete? No, of course not so the same goes for this. What it means to be a christian to me is to have accepted that Jesus died for your sins and to be perfect in gods eyes and then let god take control of your life and guide you.

So of course i accept that religion is a personal choice, whether you chose to be an atheist, christian, Muslim etc. But equally as you're allowed free will to not have a religion, I am allowed to have free will too chose a religion too. Me being a christian doesn't make me grow taller or have the best figure it just changes my heart, the inside where it really matters. I would never plan on mocking or judging somebody on physical appearances i can see, never mind where somebody heart is that i cannot physically see.
