I'm S t r e s s e d
So in a few weeks I will be moving to a new city, making new friends and finding a new church all over again.
This excites me a lot, as I love change and the joy of starting new adventures.
I've non stopped talked about the societies I want to join, all the coffee dates I have planned, which super market I will go to (So lame I know!)- Just all the fun things University brings.
I was missing one thing in all of this- Studying.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the media industry and find it fascinating how quickly it changes and how there's meaning behind every detail. I'm so buzzing to start a 3 year degree in Communication & Media.
I'm just stressed. I had a Gap Year, so I haven't had to study for a year. This doesn't seem much, but I had to remind myself how to hold a pen the other day.
It may well be one of those things that once you start, it all comes flooding back. Quite like a bicycle, in how once you have that skill you never lose it.
However I never really had the whole studying thing nailed. I found GCSE's and A-Levels super hard- I had to work my butt off to scrape average marks.
I get that not everyone will excel and there has to be people who get lower grades.
I'm just stressed that I somehow got into University as a fluke and I'll hate studying all over again?
I'm sure everyone is a little anxious about University- all for different reasons as well I'm sure. This is just mine and something I am trying to process and battle with.
I really hope this hasn't come across as really negative and looking down on University as that wasn't my intention at all.
I am really excited, but with most new adventures comes the unknown and in that often comes anxiety.
It's totally okay to feel this way, it's just how you respond and what you do to combat those fears.
