Losing that passion

Well hello there fabulous people- You're probably here because you are going through a similar dip or have in the past. High five to being completely human and through that not always being on top form. This past year, I have said yes to more things than I ever had before that. For the 18 years previously I felt too shy, incapable, unconfident and most of all lacking trust in gods plan for me. So when I had a year out for god I wanted that to change. Sure enough I was recklessly saying yes to things which were so unnatural and caused me discomfort. Through these things, god blessed me so much and I was on fire. I have no regrets looking back and I have loved exploring that part of my personality for the lord. The phrase "The skys your limit" seemed so silly, as God gave me the freedom to have no limits. The passion and drive I had over these 6 months were wonderful and such a blessing. However over the past month or so, I seemed to have hit a brick wall with that...

Top 5 Favourite sermons

Recently I have started to walk to church and back, as it means I can stay healthy but also to save money. Basically a win win situation for all. Through this I have discovered podcasts and sermons on my phone and it's transformed my faith! I wanted to share a few which will hopefully be as life changing for you, as it was for me. 1.  Louie Giglio- How Great Is Our God This sermon is from Passion City Church, where Louie Giglio is the pastor. He explores just how amazing our god is as a creator and truly made me fall in love with Jesus even more. I would recommend most of his sermons, as he's a fantastic preacher. You can find them on Passion City Churches website. 2.  Francis Chan- Stop and Think Francis Chan is the author of 'Crazy Love' and apart of that book, he's made this short video for some reflection time. Whether you are reading the book (You totally should it's fab) or not it's such an eye opening video. 3.  Matt Chandler I didn...

Saving what for marriage??

Growing up I was always that kid in youth to ask "How far is too far?" "I get to save sex, but what about everything else?". It was a very confusing time, as I imagine it is for the majority of christian teenagers. It's so counter cultural to save sex for marriage, as it's lost its meaning and sentiment through time. You're considered old fashioned or frigid if you still have your virginity past the age of 16. Now I'm not here to slam people who have sex or have had sex in the past, as honestly that's your life decision. Over the past few years, I have made mistakes in this area and will admit that I was selfish and didn't always put god first. Now I'm not saying I regret those times, as I think that's showing disrespect to the people I shared those moments with. All I know from that is that there's things I want to do in my future relationships and things I don't want to do. Now right now, I am single so you could say ...

Is singleness a problem?

As a single christian women, I am constantly being told that "some day god will put a boy in my life who will be my husband". Now that's all very well saying that as it's a comfort that you won't be forever alone. But, that's so dangerous! We need to stop seeing singleness as a problem to be solved and start seeing it as a blessing that is. (Still working on that myself.) Did Jesus need a significant other to complete him? Absolutely not. I believe that god puts us in situations for a reason and If a boy is stopping me from having a relationship with god- then surely it's best I'm single for that time being? I am in no way saying that relationships stop you from being a christian, as I know many couples who serve god together and have created something beautiful. However we do need to start seeing singleness in the same way. We need to start seeing them as different lifestyles and preferences, not as singleness being a step down from marriage. ...

What is Easter?

Image
This weekend it's Easter, which means a long weekend and an excuse to eat loads of chocolate right? But what does Easter actually mean to me? Well traditionally it's a christian holiday, but with modern society it has became a chance to drink as much as you can, eat as much as you can without having to worry about work tomorrow. It's also became a 2 week holiday for children and another chance to brighten kids imagination with the Easter bunny and an egg hunt. Now all of that is great and sounds like a lot of fun, which is something I like to have a lot off. However I feel like it's easy for us to forget the real reason for this weekend. As a christian, I believe that Jesus was nailed to a cross to bare the weight of all our sins; past, present and future. Then on the third day, he rose from the dead and the tomb he was in was emptied. After this happening, we're all forgiven of our sinful ways and saved from this broken world. I don't know about you,...

LA BABY

So in February, I was lucky enough to go on a school trip to L.A!! How crazy!? It was amazing and definitely something that needs documenting. On Wednesday 8th February we left Leicester at 5am to travel to London to catch an 11 hour flight to L.A.X (we're all thinking of Miley Cyrus don't worry) Travelling to London! Cheeky pre-flight Starbucks! Generic airport runway pic  This was my first time flying ever, so naturally I was very nervous.... However I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the flight. The meals and entertainment were far better than I ever expected and I was travelling to America- so how could I complain!?  Our lunch on the way to the USA So we left rainy and cold England behind with temperatures of 2-5 degrees, to be welcomed to a sunny LA with temperatures of 16+, which isn't too bad at all for February.  First experience of America  Had to capture the sun as we rarely see it in the UK This was t...

2017 goals

Lets be honest, most of our resolutions include going to the gym more, cutting out takeaways, drink more water etc. But how often do we really stick to these goals and how do we measure if we're doing them? This year I want to be comfortable in myself, in my looks, my personality, how I appear to people etc. For a lot of people this would probably be to lose weight and tone up and eat healthy. However for me, it has always been about gaining weight and being more curvy. Those bodies that many girls want to lose is something I would love to have! So every year, I start of the same and plan to eat more substantial meals, drink more water, do plenty of exercise. Now this is all well and good if you gain the weight you wanted or come out with the body you always dreamed of. However as of yet, that hasn't happened for me and every year I get more disheartened at that. This year I'm changing my mindset. Whether I end 2017 a size 8 or a size 12, as long as I am comfortable ...
